Katy Short, Media Makeup Artist

 

Makeup has always intrigued me, and due to suffering badly from acne for most of my teenage life, makeup has become a large part of my identity and personality.

 

My love of photography combined with my fascination in makeup artistry lead me to attend an open day at Encore Theatrical Make-up, where I met international make-up artist, Max Van De Banks. Max encouraged me to take his summer course in theatrical make-up, where I spent four intensive days learning the beginnings of what was soon to be an exciting future. My time with Max gave me enough energy and excitement to pursue a career, and I have now completed a BA (Hons) in Media Make-up at Somerset College of Arts and Technology.

 

I'm pleased to say that I've found products which my skin loves and it's now in great condition, so I wear makeup because I love it, not because need  it.  I currently run my own business as a freelance Media Makeup Artist and Health & Wellness Consultant, helping other people to improve their skincare regime and cosmetic application, as well as dipping into special FX every now and then, and I love love LOVE what I do!
